nike "just do it"
-The Nike campaign was done by having athlete wear Nike clothes with the phrase "just do it." The campaign was successful cause it links success in sports with Nike the brand. It appeals to there target audience with athlete and motivate people to get fit with they're products. it also had athlete talking and there life and experience which create an emotional connection with the customer
-This campaign is communicated using adverts, billboards and posters
-One of the thing they could of changed was there choice in athlete. they brought unneeded controversy to the brand by using colin Kaepernick as one of the athlete in there ads and posters. Kaepernick has gotten a lot of controversy for kneeling during the national anthem, speaking out about police brutality and hosting a Netflix show about the racism he faced growing up
team tree
-Team tree partnered with mrbeast(youtuber) for a video in which he claims he'll plant 20,000,000 tree. This generated a lot of popularity for the charity and encouraged people to donate . It even got attention from celebrity like Jeff Bezos who donated 2million to the charity. this collaboration was extremely successful and ended up raising 23milloin dollars for the charity (3milloin more then asked for)
-the comunication tools used was the event with mrbeast and an advert.
-they could of made a social media account to post regular updates on how close they are to there goal.
- there's many elements of cohesion such as the colour green and all the nature references

learning aim b
for my campaign I choose rock as the genre. i then conducted a survey that i sent out which asks questions about colour scheme, merchandise, etc.

This question was asked so i could compare it with the question "would you go to a rock concert" to see what demographic I should advertise to if I decided to organise a concert. By comparing these questions I found out 0% of women that took this survey would go to a concert and 20% of men would. Neither of which are high percentages but it still tells me to target towards men if a plan a concert
This question was also asked so i could compare it with the question "would you go to a rock concert" to see what demographic I should advertise to if I decided to organise a concert. the survey shows 10% of 13-17 year olds would go to a rock concert and none of the 18-30 year olds would. this also tells me the age range of people taking this survey is limited and i should do research about 30+ to see if they would be a good demographic to target

This question was to help me found out what time is best to post on social media. the results tell me the afternoon is the best time to post. Evenings are the only other options picked which shows if i post then people will see it but its not the best time. Also no other time was picked so I should never post at these time
These result show me the best places to put a poster would be on billboards and bus stops, mainly billboards. But magazines and newspapers is the least effective option. Train stations and buses are also not good places to put posters. based on these results I'll mainly put posters on billboards and bus stops.

This shows that when planning colour schemes i should use dark colour ( a lot of black) with some neutral such as dark grey. It also shows that having bright colours should be avoided at all cost. i can use this information to make colour schemes
this tells me that when making posters, album covers, etc. i should use black and red as the prominent colours, mainly black since they are the most selected options and these results also match the convention for the rock genre

These results tells me that i should use a male as my artist. Since it's what the majority of people expect to see but sadly that's not possible therefore i'm go with the second most picked choice which is other. this also fit the conventions for rock since it often uses theme of rebellion against society and my artist is rebelling against societally imposed gender norms
most people said no which means when I'm promoting the concert i should book big venues since the crowd will probably be small.

the most picked answer is social media and youtube so that's were i'll do most of my promoting especially instagram. no one picked podcast so i won't book my artist on any podcast but i will book them for talk shows.
since the vast majority selected hoodies and shirts i will be selling that in veriest designs. the rest of the options have equal responses so I'll sell them but not as many and i won't sell shoes.

rock genre
cohesion/communication
-darks colours themes with lots of black and grey
-disturbing imagery such as corpses, distorted bodies, demons, etc
-sad or dark themes like suicide
-There's no specific way of speaking associated with this genre but they do tend to speak casually and have a nonchalant attitude
promotion/adversizing
-rock band often promote on social media by posting sneak peaks, album, song covers, behind the scenes, etc. you can post YouTube vlogs and go on podcast as well
-they can also play radio ads on stations such as planet rock, BBC radio 3, AM rock UK, kerrang! radio, etc
-they're aren't many channels to advertise on when it comes to finding your audience. but their is talk shows like the metal show and their used to be mtv 2 but that's gone now
my campaign
artist name: unknown king
-I got the inspiration for my artist from artist like grandson who has a very casual and simplistic dress style so a lot of there outfits should be have dark colour preferably black, sometimes shirt/hoodie with a print on it and a black beanie. which will be a more masculine outfit
-I also want them to dress in a feminine casual alt style. This would mean they wear mainly dark colours, skirts, shirts with prints and maybe a choker. this will be a more feminine since my artist doesn't I identify with either gender there outfit choice can flow between both feminine and masculine
-As for there posture and gate should be laid back with angry, monotone or melancholy facial expression and way of speaking. They are meant to come off as edgy and not caring about what people think

drawn version
I made a drawn version of my artist to put on merchandise, promotional products and it will be made into a logo. i made drawn drafts for what it could look like the main theme i was going for was dark demonic royalty and i think both of these fit that is different ways. the one i decided to go with is the red eyed one because it seem more menacing meanwhile the other one look kinda like a creepy child's drawing

album-WWIII
I picked this name cause the topic of world war 3 has been trending lately therefore bringing more popularity to my artist. it also fits well into genre which is often rebellious and controversial. i decide to release the album in October since that gives me 2 mouth between the song release and tour to start to get fans excited for the tour
font
when thinking of fonts I decided to go for something edgy and messy for the artists name and something simplistic and bold for the album name. I also think san-serif or serif would look good and that the font should be masculine. To find font idea i went to a site called 1001fonts so i could get a good range of font for free. i picked 3 font option for the artist name and 1 for the album name. i choose to use punk kid for my artist name font since it is edgy and messy but still easy to read and simplistic enough to fit in on any products in this campaign

tour
i planned to go on tour in December since thats when my audience will be on holiday so more people will be free to come to the concerts. The tour will be in England since that's where my artist is based also because some of the song are have anti American themes so preforming is England is less risky
colour scheme
after reviewing the results of my survey and researching other artist e.g. grandson and my chemical romance i decided to use dark colours with mostly black and red since thats the most selected colours from the survey. below are possible colour schemes. i decided to go with the last colour scheme because the dark colours fit the theme since it's war and red go well with black they also have connotation of death. grey is also good because it's a dark somewhat lifeless colour which supports the theme of war. i plan to use this colour scheme in all products in this campaign

i decided to mix the second draw raft with the third digital draft. because i like the background of that draft the most and when i organise the text in the same way as digital draft 3 it will look kinda like a sash going accross the soldiers body

i decided to use this layout because i like that the album cover is slightly slanted it makes the poster look more interesting. also because it's the more space efficient without being cluttered
radio ad
i decided to make a radio advert instead of a tv advert because if i made a tv advert my options are limited on what channel to have the advert on. when searching for tv channels the only one i found had been discontinued. but when searching for rock radio stations i had many options to choose from include BBC radio 3, planet rock, rock radio and many more. i decided to run the advert on the 3 radio stations i named.
script:
VO: if you like rock music you'll love unknown king new album WW3, with songs like drafted

M: song plays for 8 seconds

VO: and other song such as my personal favour "false moves"

M: song plays for 12 seconds

VO: go listen to unknown king's new album on Spotify and iTunes
social media
Instagram:
I planned to post on Instagram at least weekly with updates on the album, sneak peaks, pictures of the artist out and about. based on the survey and online statistics I decided to post in the afternoon since that's when the most people will be on. I decided to go with Instagram since it popular with my target audience (16-24) and because it will make my artist form the right imagine for themselves online
tiktok:
this is a good app to promote songs on since it very sound based and a lot of people find new music from it but creating trends like dances wouldn't work with the rock genre since the dances are cute and fun and rock is angry and sad. so instead i 'll attract people to my artist using funny bloopers from shoots, pictures and cringy dances to make my artist seem funny and quirky that way people will become more interested in there personally
YouTube:
I thought about make a YouTube channel for my artist to make them come across as likeable and down to earth. the more people like there personality the more interested they'll be in stuff like there music and merch. But YouTube can take a while to get started on and would take at least a year before we hit 10k so it's not helpful for this campaign
twitter:
it has an older demographic then I'm appealing to and it's not good for music it's mainly useful for ranting which my campaign won't have
the demographic is to old
summary
I'm making an Instagram and tiktok account for my artist
cohesion
-i plan to use the hashtag make king known on all my post since my artist is unknown king and they're trying to get famous
-colour scheme and font will be the same throughout the campaign
-the theme of war will be present in most product todo with the album but not all products to do with the artist
-the hashtag makekingknown will be on all my Instagram post and some merch
merch
product list
shirts design1 - £16
shirt design2 -£22
posters- £18-25
i planned to make with 2 main designs, design 1 is word design like the album or artist name and design 2 is images like the artist face or album cover.
shirts
these designs are meant to promote the album and artist when people wear it. i descided to go with 2 design so i can appeal to more people since some people may prefer just words on there shirt. also because i wanted there to be a cheaper version.

poster
I wanted to make poster because my age demographic tend to want to decorate there room with poster therefore it's likely to appeal to them. I made one drawn and one normal with the drawn one being more expensive since it's gonna take longer to make. I wanted to make a drawn one because I thought my audience would think it's cool

website
i decided to make a website to give fans an easy way to get info, and buy products. it also means i can easily put a link to it in ads and posts. The website's pages(in order): home, album, tour, merchandise, about. I'm also planning to make a QR code to put on ads

Evaluation
feedback

i asked this to make sure my feedback was diverse enough since my target audience is only an age range I wanted to appeal to all genders not just one. the results tell me that the feedback I'm getting isn't just one gender and that it's has an almost even amount of men and women.

other all I think the results are fairly positive most people understood the artist genre and websites theme. they found the poster easy to read and like the logo but it's not all positive. My feedback on the Instagram tells me that half of people who saw it would may not interact with the post. a way to fix this would have been to make the images I post more eye catching so people were more likely to take interest. Another issues I had was that people saying they wouldn't buy the merch. After asking some of the people I sent the survey to why they said no. I found out they didn't like the blood stains which is easily solvable since the shirt has a non bloody option. So i should have used that picture in the survey instead.
Interview
I conducted two interviews to get feedback on my campaign each interview is below for you to watch. but you don't have to watch it to understand how it went you can just read the evaluation below the video. you may want to watch though since it has pictures of what I asked about.
interview 1
interview 2
each interviewee gave positive feedback for most elements of the campaign. both of the interviewee liked my artist name they called it catchy and could recognise it's part of the rock genre. this lines up with the feedback from the survey in 50% could tell it was from the rock genre and 30% though it was metal which has similar conations and conventions to rock. they could both tell recognise elements of cohesion in my tour poster, album cover and poster advert. which show me I was successful in making them look cohesive. they could also tell the theme was war.

the feedback on the outfits was also quite good, they both said they like the outfit and one even mentioned the fact that one was masculine would catch her attention. but one of them didn't like that the outfit had pink on it which makes sense since that colour doesn't fit the theme. this tells me i should go for darker coloured clothes in the future.

the radio advert go some negative feedback since they couldn't hear the voiceover very will. this was mainly because of how I talk my pronunciation isn't very good. I should have recorded someone else speaking for the voiceover. it also may be because the music was to loud which i should have taken into consideration when editing. the promotional video got good feedback with one interviewee saying they like how it made them look like i normal person and not a big star and the other saying maybe they'd check it out. since one said maybe i should try make my videos more compelling next time.

the website got good feedback from both interviewees with them making comments like it's easy to read, navigate, they like the backgrounds, etc. so i think i did quite well on the website. this is supported by the survey feedback in which no one said no to liking the layout but 50% said somewhat which means there's room for improvement.
